Sofia's women shirt sleeves - Svilenitsa (fragment). The original of this embroidery is on display in the Ethnographic Museum in Sofia. This Motif dates from the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX century.
Another variant of the elbetitsa - at the ends of each direction there is a schematized human head, which is very reminiscent of a Kuker mask. This variant of elbetitsa is known among the Shopite as "rogettes". It symbolizes harmony in the world and in human behavior. The eight directions of the world merge into one common stable center. This emphasizes the invariability in the cycle of nature - winter - north, summer - south, spring - east, autumn - west.
