Rosette of Pliska- a medieval bronze artifact of great importance for Bulgarian history.
It was discovered in the old Bulgarian capital Pliska during archeological excavations led by the famous archaeologist Stancho Vaklinov. It is a medallion (diameter 38 mm) shaped like a star with seven rays, each of which has two pro-Bulgarian runic signs on its face. In the middle of the front side there is an ear for the rope, and at the same place on the other side is cut the sign IYI (symbol of the genus Dullo).
According to the earliest theory, the rosette was part of a horse harness, but later appeared the hypothesis that its rays were connected to the seven days of the week, the seven radiant gods, the seven planets known in ancient times, and the rosette itself served as a magical tool to perform divination and rituals.
Whichever hypothesis you prefer, the rose is a symbol laden with the power and might of the ages.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 25 mm.
Weight: aprox. 4.40 gr.
You could add an elegant silicone chain that fits the rosette perfectly and would complete your jewel.
